Yep! I almost forgot to update this blog. I didn't even remember that I have a blogspot blog entitled Old Database. This is an old repository of anything that I can think of. I love updating this blog a long time ago, but now, I'm tired of doing updates to this blog. I just noticed in the new Blogger UI that this blog still receives around 10,000+ unique visitors per day, which is really weird. So I guess I need to update this blog again. That's all that I want to share for now! Thanks for reading this post whoever you are!

This was the message I saw after logging in my GoDaddy account yesterday: "Please contact customer service at (480) 505-8855 regarding your account." I'm so annoyed about this user verification / security process. I badly need to renew my expiring domains and transfer some of my domains to a new host, but I can't, because my GoDaddy account was locked without prior notice.

I've checked other websites about this similar problem and found a lot. It's for security purposes because GoDaddy's security has a loop hole and they need to verify all user accounts again so that you'll be safe from domain hacking, etc.

Your only chance to unlock your domain is to call 480 505-8855, or else, you can't unlock it. I'm hoping for an alternate method of how to unlock my account without calling the customer support. I'm still waiting for GoDaddy's message regarding my concern. I tried to call the number but I'm always disconnected. Maybe because I'm using a number that is outside the United States, or maybe calling internationally is not permitted by my provider.

I hope GoDaddy can fix this issue as soon as possible because I have more than 20 expiring domains that I need to renew before it's too late.

If you've turned off your comment moderation inside your blogger account, you won't be able to stop those nasty spammers. Well, it's just based on my experience. I don't know how to stop Blogspot spammers if my comment moderation is turned OFF. The best thing to do it delete all spams that was posted in each entry. Now, that's a lot of work...

To prevent this your should always turn your comment moderation ON, and approve comments that you think it's not a spam.

But, how will you determine if it's a spam or not? If your keen enough, you will notice that these spam messages are repeatedly copy-pasted over and over again. It will contain such messages like: Wow Nice Blog, You have a great article, or stuffs like, Visit our websites, or visit this with so many links containing various websites that might catch your interest. Most of these links contains adult stuff, breast enhancers, and many other links similar to it.

I hope Google will add a spam filtering feature to blogger, like Akismet or Spam Karma that is only available to Wordpress. Maybe there is one, but I still don't know what it is, or where to find it...

The main reason why I posted about this spamming thing is because I was suffering from a serious human-like comment spammer. My old posts, starting from October 2006 was spammed by this robot from titanichost.com. If anyone of you here, who knows how to stop this threat, kindly leave me a comment, and help me stop this spam :(

My technorati authority was stucked at 440. That's all for today! Ciao! Hehehe... Why am I stucked at 440? Because... I made a wrong move.. or is it right? to have my own domain: www.jehzlau-concepts.com. I hope there will be a technorati feature, that even if I change my domain, the back links that I previously have will be added to my new domain, because it points in the same website. Perhaps, they will find a way how to do that. I know it's not that complicated for the technorati guys to do it. But I think there's a reason behind this stuff, that's why they are not adding the authority points to the new domain that is used with the same website. I just want to blog about this kasi wala lang. If advantage ba or disadvantage ang pag + ng authority points kasi same site lang naman eh, or in favor ba kayo sa pag + ng lumang auth points niyo sa bago niyong address, ok naman diba? Sayang naman if back to zero ulit if I'll change my domain. ( sayang din kasi nasa Top 10k na yung luma kong address.. huhuhu)

Or.... maybe there's a feature like what I'm describing above, but I just can't locate where is it. O baka meron dyan sa inyong may alam, turuan niyo naman ang kawawang si Jehzeel. My new domain reached to 90+ technorati authority points agad in just 2 months without asking for back links. Kaya it was such an accomplishment to a technorati-freako/authority conscious like me. Hehehe.. Teach me naman paano, or dapat ba talaga isa isahin ko lahat ng website para magpa change ng link? is there no other way but to manually visit each blog to update my link? :(

Yipeeeeeeeeee! The new validator from W3C is now available for beta test! You can try it out here: http://validator-test.w3c.org I just found it today, because I haven't visited the W3c validator service for more than a week, I think. I was surprised that this new service was available. But I think nothing's new here, but the header and the page design, hehe. I just don't know what did they update, and what's the difference between the old validator and the beta validator. Maybe you wanna see how this new validator works. Just visit their site and validate your XHTML. What I've noticed is, after your XHTML is validated, and is valid, there are 2 W3C icons to choose from, compared to the old one, that you have no option, except to use the yellow one. Duhh.. you can make your own icon if you want to, there's no big deal if there are two or three or more options of the W3C valid icon. Hehe.. anyway, that's all for now. Just want to post something for people who are standards compliant. But for those who are not SC, this post is a trash :(

Hayyy.. another CSS issue for Firefox. The negative z-index of Firefox puts the z-indexed div below the body, and I hate it. It should be like IE that ignores the body's z-index. I don't know what will I do to replace this z-index thing on firefox. It's just because 20% of my top header needs a white background that's why I'm using z-index so that the logo of my site will not be covered with the white background in fixed position. I thought it works fine in all browsers, but in Firefox, it doesn't really work as I thought it was. I also assumed that FF doesn't support Z-index properly. I tried to set my logo's z-index to 2 and the background to 1, but it doesn't display as expected... Huhuhu.. I hope someone can post a comment regarding this, or a link to a solved issue regarding this bug or maybe it's not a bug, I just don't know what's the right terminology for it. Hehe ^_^ I have googled about this issue, but I didn't find any answer.

Okey, Please don't ask why I am blogging about this. If you want to ask why, it is because I want to! Hehe. Maybe there's another reason why? This one is a pretty old problem that I've encountered using PHP5, after migrating from PHP4. I just wanna right this stuff because somebody encountered the same problem as I did. So that I can help if someone who's newbie in creating PHP form processors uses phpformgen from SourceForge.

Just lately, somebody PMd me at chatango, (that small live chat box at the sidebar of my blog). He asked about phpformgen problems in PHP5. Then I answered it, because "alam ko eh, hehe". My answer was easy, just remove that global.inc.php includes thing in your process.php that was generated by the phpformgen. Then, delete the pt_registers and edit the posting functions from 'POST' to $_POST, that's how easy it is. You can make your own form processor by just applying that simple function, you can send email information from form starting from a scratch. You can view my very very simple PHP form processor here, just one data to be sent to a form recipient, so that you'll have a basic idea. (for those newbie who really doesn't have the basic concept, but for pro-programmers, I'm sure you will laugh at this post, hehe).

If you are encountering the same problem as I do, then I can't help you, because I've never ever resolved this problem. If you set your CNAME alias and point it to ghs.google.com, even if you'll wait for one week for the domain to propagate, it won't work! Wah! You'll just waste time of waiting it to be live over the world wide web, it really don't work! Same with my blogger account, you have an option to publish your posts in your custom domain, but it doesn't really work at all. Or maybe, my settings are wrong, but I have verified it to GoDaddy that my Total DNS Control settings are right, maybe the problem is with Google's side.

I have submitted a support request to Google but they don't bother to reply at all. I think their very busy developing their new apps, and won't waste time to entertain this newbie problem. I hope somebody made it work, and comment to this post, because I can't, I really really can't make it work.

It's been a week of waiting for my CNAME alias to propagate, maybe a redirection or SSH settings would be better. What's the catch? if I'll use CNAME to provide custom URL, it will still redirect to mail.google.com, so why don't use redirection with mask instead, diba?

Or is it IE's? Others said it is IE's bug. But I think it is Mozilla's? Pero IE cguro talaga. Kasi ganito, FireFox ignores the image height and width as spacer. Pero sa IE, yung exceeding space ng background image mo, ay ginagawa nyang spacer. San nga ba ang tama dito? In making paragraph division tags din, sa FireFox ang float right ay hindi na na a-align sa background. But, in IE, it works fine. Na resolve ko to for both IE and FireFox, how? I didn't use P DIV IDs for floating images to right, with image background. Ma e encounter mo lang to, pag yung div tag mo is within another div tag. Like placing a log with a gradient background that repeats horizontally. Para makagawa ka ng header in CSS Liquid Layouting Technique, also known as, resolution dependent layout.

Back to the first bug. Sa palagay ko sa IE to. IE should ignore exceeding image height as spacer, like FireFox does. Text spacing should use padding, tama ba CSS gurus? Kasi pag yung exceeding width ay height + padding ang base natin ng spacing ay magulo. Kaya, etong post ko ay mali ang title, dapat cguro IE bugs, nating FF. Hehehe.. Pero marami paring bugs na nakalimutan ko. Kaya napaka importante na alam natin ang cross-browser issues at W3C web standards para maiwasan ang mga CSS floating, spacing, padding, at iba pang bugs na makikita mo pag nag hahard code ka ng CSS. Hayyy.. kasakit talaga to ng ulo, CSS pa nga to. lalo na pag PHP part na yung gagawin ko. waaaaaaaaaa!!! Pero infairness, enjoy din mag code. Kasi masaya, kaya enjoy, at masaya, kasi enjoy. Toink? Sa wakas, nakagawa na rin ako ng javascript for my site. Kasi kelangan ko mag iba yung design to fit in 800x600 screen resolution. Kaya gumawa me ng javascript function para mag load ng ibang CSS pag iba ang screen resolution. Pero actually di pa to perfect. Di ko alam paano e load yung CSS kaya buong index niload ko, tapos sa loob ng index na yun nalang nakalagay yung CSS. Sa CSS kasi lahat ng images ko kaya wala na problem sa pag resize. Kaya yun. Nag isip isip me paano ko gawin na ma view parin ng maganda sa 800x600 screen resolution. Ang base resolution ko kasi ay 1280x1024, and minimum resolution ay yung standard resolution na 1024x768.

Pero paano kung 800x600 na. Pangit din kasi kung mag base ka sa 800x600 unless liquid layout ang CSS mo, yung ma stretch siya. Maganda din naman yun, pero pag marami ka ng images, pwede mo din naman gamitin yung sa The Man in Blue na CSS dependent layout, cool to! check it out here, or yung sa A List Apart na technic nakalimutan ko na, yung pag e resize mo browser mo, mag ra wrap yung image at liliit din, I mean mag auto crop siya, pwede mo siyang ma view kahit sa anong resolution, kahit sa cellphone or sa PDA, astig diba?. update ko nalang tung post ko pag na alala ko. hehehe.

Pero, puro nalang ako pero. Gusto ko kasi gayahin yung sa yahoo.com. Try mo change ang resolution mo to 800x600, mag iiba yung page ng yahoo, mawawala yung scroll bar sa gilid ang lilipat na siya sa gitna. Tapos adjust mo ulit sa normal resolution mo na 1280 or 1024, mag iiba ulit yung page. Kaya yun ang gusto kong mangyari, ganda kasi. E sheshare ko lang yung javascript, alam ko makaluma na to na method, pero ok parin, pero hindi valid XHTML to ha, HTML 4.01 transitional lang siya, pero ok na rin, di naman to magiging index mo, ma reredirect ka sa ibang index na compatible sa resolution mo.

Okey, simulan ko na. Una gumawa ako ng function, nilagay ko nalang ay jehzlau, ehdi sa javascipt eto ang kalalabasan.

Whew! naging valid din ang page ko sa XHTML 1.0 Strict sa http://dostscholars.com/adec5 na web project ko sa ADEC, yey! Strict kaagad, di na ako dumaan ng Transitional. Dami palang bawal sa Strict DTD. Di pwede gumamit ng onSubmit, attribute na name sa form. Ang lahat ng close tags ay dapat naka slash. Basta ang dami if you try to validate your HTML 4.01 and Convert it to XHTML 1.0 Strict dami ka makikitang pagkakaiba. Yung page ko naayos na, kaso tinanggalan ko ng AJAX Check Username feature. Marami kasi syang ampersand sa code, ayaw ng XHTML. Nung nakapasa na ako sa 1.0, sinubukan ko na mag 1.1. Ayun nakapasa din, isang error lang tapos nakapasa na ang page ko sa XHTML 1.1!!! The Latest Document Type Declaration ng W3C, and I'm proud of it. I have another interoperable Web Page na nagawa! Yes!!! Eto ang results ng validation ko :)















Yan, XHTML 1.1 talaga. Latest Document Type Declaration yan ayun sa W3 Consortium or World Wide Web Consortium. Sila po ang nag seset ng web standards para compatible sa lahat ng browser ang mga pages natin at nagbibigay ng guideliens para makagawa tayo ng isang maganda at error free websites. Para handa na tayong lahat sa future ng Web. May Web 2.0 na, baka someday may Web 3.0 na at hindi na ma view ang ating mga webpages. Buti na yung handa, kaya sa mga gustong mag prepare sa future ng inyong mga alagang web pages, e validate niyo na. Weeeeeeeee!!! Ang saya!

Yey! WohoOOOooo!! Ang saya ko! hehe.. nakapasa ako! yesHH!! San nga ba? sa board exam? Nope, di naman me nag board eh.. sa bar exam? hindi rin... Sa... isang napaka hirap ng certification test? Ahmm.. Hindi rin :) Eh san nga ba? Ehdi sa Web Standards! Hehehe.. Valid na rin ang HTML 4.01 na ginagawa ko para sa ADEC. Yes! tagal ko vinalidate, pero hindi parin valid for XHTML like nung sa MSN. Dami pang errors, 27 errors nakita nya, halo halo kasi eh. Naka integrate na PHP files ko sa index ko. Kaya bumaba ako to HTML 4.01 Transitional, ayun nakapasa, tapos nag try ako pumasok sa Strict DTD. Isang error nalang ang nakita sa index ko. At yung error na yung ay target="_self". Ewan ko ba masyadong strict yung W3 Validator, di ko maintindihan bat invalid yung target sa form ko. I removed that tag, at wala namang nangyari sa log in form ko, ok parin. Kaya nag revalidate ako for Strict DTD, at sabi ng Validator ay:

In the world's Top 3 Websites, only Microsoft Network passed the W3C Validator. It is the only valid XHTML 1.0 Strict among rest top sites, like Yahoo and Google. Yahoo has 37 errors while Google has 64 errors. If you don't believe, better check it here. Is it really necessary to pass the Markup Validation Service? I think it's not that important, but for others, it's really necessary to maintain the Web Standards. Our website should have no tables, the layout should only be in CSS, and only plain data should appear in the HTML file.

Tables should only be used in tabular data. So we should not used ImageReady to slice out pages, and spacer.gif should not be used also. We should be familiar with CSS and XHTML, and HTML 4.01. This is the web's future. No colored scrollbars, and IE will be dumped because of supporting such features that doesn't comply with the web standards! Waaaaah!!! Pero ok rin yung web standards. Full support ako sa pag implement ng W3C standards na to, to make bring back to web, parnag FireFox motto. "Bring the Web Back!". Does IE sucks? because more and more, and more developers hates IE. Hayyy... yung friendster ko pa naman di na veview sa FF. Kaya standards are very very important. But why Google and Yahoo does not comply with the standards? Yahoo pa naman ang #1 Website in terms of site traffic, pero they don't comply with the web standards. Tapos yung MSN lang ang nakita kong valid XHTML Strict, pero yung browser ng Microsoft supports colored scrollbars. Dapat nga ba tanggalin ang colored scroll bars? Dapat nga bang mag FireFox? There are so many questions that buggles my mind, and the worst of it, is I can't answer those mysteries, those web mysteries na big deal to me, and small deal to others. hehe yun lang po. Babush ;)
