My Application Was Approved! Yey!

My PhilWeaver Application at http://philweaver.net was approved in just a matter of minutes. I thought it will take 2 to 3 weeks for my application to be reviewed and accepted. But I was just accepted instantly, that's why I'm so happy to be one of these great Filipino Web Designers and Developers! (Naks parang anong achievement no? Account registration lang pala.. hehehe). Pero, atleast may nagawa ako ngayon araw, kesa naman wala diba?

Check out my online profile at PhilWeavers Dot Net by clicking this direct link HERE. Tatlong website pa lang ang nandiyan, and I have no online portfolio yet, compared to other professional graphic designers and developers that are registered in the said website. You can find various talents in that site, andyan yung mga gumawa ng mga sikat na website dito sa Pilipinas (hehe). Just browse the online profiles one by one, and you can see different talents, fascinating works, and marami pang iba.

At pahabol, may bago ulit me online account, iba nanaman to, ngayon ko lang din to nakita, thanks to Helene for inviting me at Flixster! Kung movie addict ka, register na, and answer The Never-Ending Movie Quiz! You can also view my ugly Flixster profile here! Yan lang po for today... babush!

W3C Future Markup Validator

Yipeeeeeeeeee! The new validator from W3C is now available for beta test! You can try it out here: http://validator-test.w3c.org I just found it today, because I haven't visited the W3c validator service for more than a week, I think. I was surprised that this new service was available. But I think nothing's new here, but the header and the page design, hehe. I just don't know what did they update, and what's the difference between the old validator and the beta validator. Maybe you wanna see how this new validator works. Just visit their site and validate your XHTML. What I've noticed is, after your XHTML is validated, and is valid, there are 2 W3C icons to choose from, compared to the old one, that you have no option, except to use the yellow one. Duhh.. you can make your own icon if you want to, there's no big deal if there are two or three or more options of the W3C valid icon. Hehe.. anyway, that's all for now. Just want to post something for people who are standards compliant. But for those who are not SC, this post is a trash :(

Negative Z-index on Firefox works! but...

Hayyy.. another CSS issue for Firefox. The negative z-index of Firefox puts the z-indexed div below the body, and I hate it. It should be like IE that ignores the body's z-index. I don't know what will I do to replace this z-index thing on firefox. It's just because 20% of my top header needs a white background that's why I'm using z-index so that the logo of my site will not be covered with the white background in fixed position. I thought it works fine in all browsers, but in Firefox, it doesn't really work as I thought it was. I also assumed that FF doesn't support Z-index properly. I tried to set my logo's z-index to 2 and the background to 1, but it doesn't display as expected... Huhuhu.. I hope someone can post a comment regarding this, or a link to a solved issue regarding this bug or maybe it's not a bug, I just don't know what's the right terminology for it. Hehe ^_^ I have googled about this issue, but I didn't find any answer.

10 Reasons to use Gmail

I just found this reasons after clicking an adsense link by Google ^__^ (No.. not from my own site, from other's of course, or else, I will get banned from my adsense account. My revenue is more than $50.00 so I won't do some stupidity by clicking my own adsense ads, because I will be caught, even if I use different IPs... I will still get caught and banned! ganun ka galing ang Google! amf!) Here are the reasons why you should leave your old web based e-mail:

1. Never lose a message again. Built-in Google search means you can instantly dig out any email or chat.
2. Chat immediately. Chat and email with the built-in chat without the fuss of switching between software.
3. Get less spam. Gmail blocks spam before it even gets to your inbox.
4. Mobile access. Read Gmail on your mobile phone by pointing your phone's web browser to gmail.com/app
5. 2.8GB (and growing) free storage. Even the annual contents of a major news agency might not fill that up. So you will never need to delete another message to free up the space.
6. Un-clutter your email. Gmail organizes and automatically groups follow-up emails under the source message.
7. Autosave. Saves to ‘Drafts' as you're composing. Never lose a half-written email again.
8. Labels. An email can be classified under multiple Labels to keep your house in good order.
9. Integration with other products. Gmail integrates with
calendar, Picasa web album, Docs & Spreadsheets and many more. You can access all these useful tools through your Gmail account.
10. Switching to Gmail in a few clicks. It is easy to import your address book from Outlook, Hotmail, Yahoo! and others

So? What are you waiting for, create a Gmail Account now by Clicking HERE!

Microsoft may buy Yahoo?

I just want to post it here for the benefit of those who don't know it. But if you already knew this stuff, better not read my post :). Is Microsoft loosing it's grasp in the world wide web? I possible think they do. I have read many news about this in the internet, if you don't know about it yet, here are some of the news links:

http://news.zdnet.co.uk/itmanagement/0,1000000308,39286974,00.htm
http://www.tradingmarkets.com/.site/news/BREAKING%20NEWS/539996/
http://macdailynews.com/index.php/weblog/comments/13514/

As what you've read, they are planning to buy Yahoo for $50 Billion, whoaw! That's a great amount of money. They are so afraid of Google, that's what I think. Hehehe... Currently Google is the leader with 60%. If eventually Microsoft buys Yahoo, the combined share would be 30%. Microsoft is looking to reduce the dominance of Google in this industry. That's all for today! weeeeee!!

I made it to the YES list!

I received an e-mail from Cebu Pacific Airlines a while ago, and it states that:

Congratulations! Your idea is really brilliant, that's why your idea made it to our "YES" list. We shall start working on your suggestion and see how best to implement this (because we don't want to disappoint you).

And hey, if you have other ideas you're burning to share with us...drop us an email again. Who knows, you might make it to our Hall of Fame list.

I'm so happy that my idea for the improvement of the Cebu Pacific website was accepted and made it to the YES list! But the worst thing is, I forgot what's my Idea. I then browsed my e-mail and checked my sent mails inside my sent folder (duhhh.. obviously it's inside it). But, I didn't find it.. Huhuhu... I just want to know what's my idea, it was really erased inside my gray matter, even if I recall it using my dynamic, database driven, server-side recovery system inside my brain (hehehe), it still don't work. *sigh* I hope I can remember my idea someday... I'm really getting old, and my brain cells are slowly... ahmm?? I don't know what's the right terminology to use, I just want to say that my brain cells are..... are....? Whew!.. I forgot the word.. It really proves that I have a short term memory loss.. hehehe.. That's all for today! *sigh*

p.s.: Ahh! Now I remember the term... It's Deteriorating! weeeeeee!! Thanks to my long lost old friend for helping my figure it out! hehehe ^_^
